The working title is \u201cOn the status of observations and atmospheric chemistry research in Latin America and the Caribbean\u201d. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A training course will be held in Santiago sometime during the first semestre of 2026. It will be funded by WMO and funding sources from South America are being sought. The training will be on modeling of atmospheric composition and the target audience will be: (i) academic researchers and postgraduate students, (ii) professional staff and technicians of national, regional, and municipal agencies responsible for air-quality management across Latin America and (iii) technical personnel from research institutes and observatories who wish to integrate modelling into their routine workflows.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A new version of the PAPILA emission inventory has been released. This emission inventory covers the continental SA, combining locally available information with a global database (CAMS, EDGAR &amp; GFED) applying a mosaic methodology. Emissions in the BASE inventory from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Mexico were replaced with local emission information.
