Launched in 2025, The International Commission on Tropical Meteorology (ICTM) is composed of experts from around the world. Objectives of ICTM include: 

• Enhance research in Tropical Meteorology by organizing thematic Conferences, Workshops, and Symposia  
• Enhance the understanding of tropical systems using dedicated observations and models 
• Stimulate the exchange of scientific ideas (such as field/model experiments) and collaborations internationally in Tropical Meteorology  
• Facilitate support for students and scientists to attend relevant conferences organized by the commission. 
• Establish working groups and committees, and joint committees with other Commissions of IUGG. 
• Organize joint meetings of the IUGG/IAMAS Commissions during major international conferences
• Report on commission work to IUGG through IAMAS
