The International Commission on Dynamical Meteorology is a constituent Commission of the International Association of Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences (IAMAS). It is composed of scientists from a wide range of countries who are committed to furthering the pursuit of and international cooperation in the science of dynamical meteorology.

Special Announcements

The next workshop organized by ICDM will focus on diabatic processes across scales in the extratropics in Wolkersdorf near Vienna, 28 April until 1 May 2026.

The ICDM participates in and co-organizes additional workshops on various topics. Please return here for further information as plans develop. Please contact any of the ICDM officers if you are interested in participating in the planning of symposia.

The ICDM is organized several symposiums for the the joint IAMAS – IACS – IAPSO Assembly, BACO-2025 in Busan, South Korea, 20-25 July 2025 and the 28th IUGG Assembly in Berlin, Germany, 11-20 July, 2023. ICDM also organised the international workshop on Linking Weather and Climate Dynamics across Scales in Nanjing, China, 13-19 October 2024.

ICDM promoted ‘The First TEAMx Workshop’ (Multi-scale transport and exchange processes in the atmosphere over mountains programme and experiment) in Rovereto, Italy on 28-30 August 2019. For details: click here.

ICDM developed 9 symposia for the IUGG meeting in Montreal Canada in July 2019.
